The mobile is little bit rugged type of handset and is the second Android phone followed after the Motorola i1 for Sprint and Boost Mobile. The mobile completely follows an alternate path for the mobile’s construction, as the exterior of the phone is mostly defined to resist water as opposed to drops. The two-tone hard plastic shell of Motorola Defy MB 525 feels durable enough, but guess it would still blemish under the most extreme conditions if the mobile is dropped onto the hard pavement.

The volume rocker and dedicated power button are raised slightly to allow our fingers to distinctly feel them out while offering some solid feedback when pressed. In the rear of Motorola DEFY MB525 is a 5-megapixel auto-focus camera with LED flash positioned in their usual spots and seems to be well protected. At the bottom edge of the rear panel, a small opening is available for the speakerphone.

When immersed in the water, the mobile seems to work fine and specially when the water comes into contact with the earpiece. Anticipation increases when the mobile is fully immersed in to the water. The mobile also plays songs even if the mobile is immersed in to 2 inches of water. Impressively, water dripped away so quickly that it made the handset look as if it were never dipped at all.
